On Saturday, September 26, 2009, Senator Tony Foriest, who serves Alamance and Caswell County in NC Senate District 24 will have a booth set up at the 28th annual Brightleaf Hoedown in Caswell County. For those unaware of what the Hoedown is... The Brightleaf Hoedown is a celebration of tobacco heritage in Caswell County, where in 1839 the "Brightleaf" tobacco process was discovered.

BCTGM LOCAL 317T proudly welcomes Rick Whiddon to the Union. Rick is a 2nd shift employee in the Blending Department. Welcome to the Union Rick!

As we did in the TPP Area, we will be coming to the Maintenance Department on September 25th at 730am to come talk to you and listen to your comments and concerns about any issues you are having in your department.

Also, a reminder that Contract Proposals are available at the Union Conference Room. They are available until the end of the month and must be turned in at the end of the month.

The regular monthly Union meeting will be held on Saturday September 12th at 430pm.

Contract Proposals are now available through the end of the month. They are located in the Union Conference Room and must be turned in by the end of the month.

The Regular Monthly Union Meeting will be held Saturday, August 8th at 4:30pm. Nominations and Election of delegates for the NC State AFL-CIO Convention will take place at this meeting.

Trustees are to report at 330pm for a meeting.

As you know Contract Negotiations are fast approaching. We just elected a new Negotiation Committee and Congratulations to all elected! We will be prepared for the task that lies ahead. We will set some specific goals for our Union Contract just as we set goals since taking office January 10. We made a commitment to the membership to clean up the grievance procedure.
